What Are Knap-Ins?
They are gatherings of craftsmen who replicate stone tools used by ancient civilaztions (ie: stone arrow & ataatl points, knives, and axes). These events are used to exchange replication methods and ideas, teach the craft to new Knappers, and they are social events for people who share common interests in archeology and primitive crafts.
The Osage Knap-In is an event that has been ongoing for over two decades and has
grown from just five participating craftsmen to hundreds from all over the country. It is one of the first and largest events of this kind in the USA and has a reputation as one of the best. The best Knappers in the country regularly attend this event.
Knapper's registration fee is $5.00 for each Knapper or Knapper and spouse. Children under 16 are free accompanied by a parent. Free primitive camping is permitted, and some full hook-ups are also available for a fee. For more information contact one of the event coordinators:
